POWER OUTAGE IN BLOEMENDAL AND SURROUNDING AREAS.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that a 11kV circuit breaker tripped at Bloemendal substation causing a loss of power supply in Bloemendal and surrounding areas.
A team has been informed to do investigation and repairs.

POWER OUTAGE IN MOTHERWELL.
Tuesday, 12 November 2024.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that while the team was busy with fault-finding following the power outage, they discovered that the switchgear has blown, causing a loss of power supply to the whole of Motherwell.
Given the duration of the outage thus far, some parts of the City's water supply may be interrupted in the process.
The team is on the ground working around the clock to restore power supply as soon as possible. Please follow our Municipal social media pages for more updates.

EMERGENCY ELECTRICITY IN STRAUNDALE AND SURROUNDING AREAS.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that an emergency switching needs to be done at Swarkops/ Straundale 66kV for an arching busbar.
The following areas will experience a power outage:
1. Straundale Industrial
2. Kenako Mall
3. Tenneco
4. Dora Nginza Hospital
5. East Cape Training Centre
A team is currently on the ground busy with mitigation efforts to minimise the effects of the arching busbar.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to update residents on the measures being taken regarding power outages in the following areas:
KWANOBUHLE:
Fault funding is still ongoing.
SIDWELL AND NORTH END:
All supply has been restored to the affected areas.
NEWTON PARK:
All supply has been restored to all the affected areas.
STRUANDALE:
All supply has been restored to all the affected areas.
More updates will follow as they become available.

Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents on road conditions following heavy rainfall.
Flooded Roads:
Motorists are urged to drive slowly and cautiously on the following roads, which are currently flooded.
1. Pickering Street
2. Newton Street
3. Durban Road
4. Stanford Road, Korsten
5. Villiers Road, 5th Avenue to 11th Avenue
6. Markman Industrial
7. Walker Drive
8. Allister Miller Drive, opposite the Airport
9. Off-ramp from N2 into Deal Party
10. M4 going into town
Road Closures:
The following roads are closed for safety reasons. Do not attempt to move barricades.
1. 3rd Avenue Dip
2. Perseverance Crossing
3. Bethelsdorp Precinct
4. Bethelsdorp Road
5. Bertram Road
6. Willow Dam (Manned by Metro Police)
7. Rensburg Street, Extension 27
8. Kleinskool Crossing

Motorists should slow down at the following locations due to large puddles:

KwaZakhele Warning:
Due to localised flooding in KwaZakhele, stormwater pipe lids have lifted because of extreme water pressure. Please exercise caution when traveling on the following roads.

3. Daku Road (off Struanway Road toward Njoli Road)
4. Spondo Road
5. Qeqe Road
