Qualifications and experience required:

  • Qualified Electrician.
  • One-year relevant experience.

Key attributes and competencies: 

  • Must be physically fit and healthy and able to perform manual operations and duties on foot - is required to climb and carry a ladder and to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to cope with working under environmental conditions that are physically stressful such as varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to cope with mental stress arising from potential or actual physical threat as work is to be performed on live electrical apparatus and in the immediate vicinity of live electrical systems.
  • Must work overtime and render standby duties.

  • Must be physically fit and healthy and able to perform manual operations and duties on foot - is required to handle equipment weighing over 20 kg when carrying out switching operations. It is also occasionally required to climb a ladder or high mast structure, work in confined spaces or at elevated distances. 
  • Must be able to cope with working under environmental conditions that are physically stressful such as varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to cope with mental stress arising from potential or actual physical threat as work is to be performed on live electrical apparatus and in the immediate vicinity of live electrical systems and when supervising the lowering of high mast poles and scaffolding.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification: B.Bibl/B.LIS/BTech:LIS/B.Info (Hons) or PGDip LIS or equivalent four years post-Matric qualification.
  • Registered member of LIASA.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Valid Code EB driver’s licence preferred.
  • Three to five years’ experience in a library environment.

  • Attending to the acquisition, organisation of information, and interacting and providing users with information from various media, creating an environment conducive to learning through the arrangement of displays and signage of new library materials.
  • Attends to administrative reporting and record updating requirements.
