Due to a fault at the 5th Ave substation on Newton Park, the following temporary changes had to be made to the loadshedding groups:

1. The following substations were fed from 5th Avenue sub, Newton Park (Group 12) – however, due to a substation fault, they will now be fed from Kragga Kamma substation (Group 17):

Kentucky; Willet; Westway; 7th Ave; Pickering St; Worraker St; 6th Ave Mini No2; 6th Ave Mini; 4th Ave Mini No.2; 34-4th Ave, Worraker Mini, , King Edward St Mini; 7th Ave Mini; 5th Ave Exchange; Servistar;72-4th Ave; Yasmin; Landbank; Kwikkie mini; 15th Ave Mini

2. The following substations were fed from Diaz Rd Substation (Group 9) – however, due to a cable fault, they are now being fed from Lorraine substation (Group 16):

Pickering Park; 2nd Ave Newton Park RMU2; Newton Sub; Newton 2 Sub; FNB; 3rd Ave Mini; West St Mini; West St Mini 2; Nobili St; Pick n Pay Sub; Mowbray St; Wendy ; Handsworth; 4th Ave; Hard St Mini; Grand Bazaars.

3. The following substations were fed from Diaz Rd Substation (Group 9) – however, due to a cable fault, they are now being fed from Kragga Kamma substation (Group 17):

2nd Ave; Alexandra Rd Mini; 4th Ave Mini; 4th Ave Mini 3.

Customers are encouraged to follow their newly assigned groups on the loadshedding schedule.

No timeframe available for when the equipment will be repaired / replaced, and the network returned to normal.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that a 11kV circuit breaker tripped at Rowallan Park/ Vincent substation causing a loss of power supply in Rowallan Park and surrounding areas.

A team has been informed to conduct investigations and affect repairs.
