POWER OUTAGE NOTICE – KWANOBUHLE

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Energy Directorate wishes to inform residents of a power outage affecting KwaNobuhle.

A trip has been detected on the Mabandla 1 66kV circuit breaker at the San Souci Substation. The High Voltage (HV) Depot has been notified and is currently attending to the fault.

AFFECTED AREA:
* KwaNobuhle

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – MALABAR SUBSTATION

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Energy Directorate wishes to inform residents that electricity supply has been restored to most customers affected by the outage.

However, customers supplied from the Armstrong Substation remain without electricity while technical teams continue to attend to the fault.

Areas still affected:
 Section of Helenvale
 Section of Malabar Extension 6 and surrounding areas

At this stage, there is no estimated timeframe for the restoration of supply. Residents are encouraged to treat all electrical infrastructure as live.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – KARIEGA AREA

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Energy Directorate wishes to inform residents of an electricity outage affecting parts of Kariega.

Municipal technical teams have identified a cable fault between Union Avenue and Stow Road Mini Substation, caused by vandalism. Technical teams are currently on site carrying out cable jointing.

 AFFECTED AREAS:
* Central
* Fairbridge Heights
* Mosel
* Van Riebeeck Heights and surrounding areas

Load reduction is currently being implemented while cable jointing work is underway.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Energy Directorate wishes to inform residents of an electricity outage affecting parts of Motherwell and surrounding areas.

Municipal technical teams have established that the 22kV breaker at the Motherwell Main Substation has tripped.

AFFECTED AREAS:
* Khayelitsha
* NU 30
* Surrounding areas

The Depot is aware of the fault, and technical teams are working to address the issue and restore the electricity supply as soon as possible.

At this stage, there is no estimated time for the restoration of the electricity supply.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – ALGOA PARK / YOUNG PARK / GELVAN PARK

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Energy Directorate wishes to provide residents with an update regarding the power outage affecting parts of the metro.

Municipal technical teams have established that Transformers T11 and T12 6kV breakers at the North End Substation have tripped.

Attempts to restore supply were unsuccessful as the breakers could not be closed due to a lack of battery backup, with the substation batteries found to be depleted. The batteries are currently being recharged to enable the safe restoration of electricity supply.

* Algoa Park
* Young Park
* Gelvan Park
* Surrounding areas
