WATER DISRUPTION UPDATE | 12:00

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents that the situation unfortunately remains unchanged.
Municipal teams are still on site troubleshooting the operational electrical and water supply issues affecting the area, with work underway to resolve the matter and restore water supply to the affected areas as soon as possible.
As a temporary measure, water tankers are being deployed and will roam at convenient points within the affected areas. Residents are encouraged to remain in contact with their Ward Councillors for information on tanker locations and further updates.

There is currently no specified timeframe for the restoration of water supply. The Municipality will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as information becomes available.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – TAMBOVILLE SUBSTATION

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Energy Directorate advises residents of an unplanned power outage following the tripping of an 11kV circuit breaker at Tamboville Substation.
Depot operators have been dispatched to investigate the fault. More information will be communicated as it becomes available.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Energy Directorate wishes to provide an update regarding the power outage affecting Salt Lake and surrounding areas.
One joint between Jamie and Bethelsdorp needs to be repaired. Additional resources have been made available to assist with the repair. There is currently no timeframe for the restoration of electricity supply.

PLANNED ELECTRICITY SHUTDOWN – SWARTKOPS / MATOMELA SUBSTATIONS

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Energy Directorate wishes to inform residents and affected stakeholders that the planned electricity shutdown originally scheduled for Sunday, 20 September 2026, has been rescheduled to Sunday, 27 September 2026, from 07:00 to 19:00.
An alternative date has also been scheduled for Sunday, 4 October 2026, should the planned work not be able to proceed on 27 September 2026.
