UPDATE ON THE RESTORATION OF 66kV CABLE THAT WAS DAMAGED DUE TO VANDALISM AT SAN SOUCI-MABANDLA SUBSTATION.
7 February 2025.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to update residents on the progress of the restoration of electricity supply to KwaNobuhle affected by the San Souci-Mabandla 66kV cable that was recently damaged due to vandalism.
Despite tireless efforts by our team on-site, the project timeline has been delayed by two days due to unforeseen circumstances listed below:
1. On Saturday, 1 February 2025, the site was temporarily closed following the discovery of a deceased person.
2. Rainy weather prevented the team from working.
The revised estimated restoration date is now Monday, 10 February 2025. We implore residents to remain patient as teams work diligently to restore electricity supply.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

4. ?Gerdine Road and surrounding areas
All installations to be treated as live for the duration of the shutdown.
