The Skills Development Division has a dual function, offering external services to the community and internal services to our employees.

On offer to the community are learnerships, graduate development programmes, internships, etc. To apply: Application forms can be obtained and delivered to the Skills Development Administration Clerk, on the 9th floor, Fidelity House, Govan Mbeki Street (Next to City Treasurer) or contact Joyce Marwana at 041 506 3413.
LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME
What is a learnership programme?
A learnership programme combines structured learning and workplace experience, which leads to the achievement of a qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). A learnership is a process that leads to the achievement of a qualification. A learnership combines structured learning and workplace experience.
A learnership programme is regulated through a learnership agreement, which is a tri-partite agreement between the employer, learner and training provider.
A number of learnership programmes are available and listed on the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) website.
How do I participate?
Submit a detailed CV, certified copy of your ID, and a copy of your Grade 12 Certificate to the HR Transformation Services office in order for us to register your details on the NMBM database.
Your CV should have a cover page indicating which learnerships you interested in and its to be delivered to the Skills Development Administration Clerk, ninth floor, Fidelity House,
Govan Mbeki Avenue (next to City Treasurer).

INTERNSHIPS
What is an internship programme?
An internship offers a work-related learning experience for individuals who wish to develop hands-on work experience in a specific occupational field. Most internships are temporary assignments that last from approximately three months up to one year.
How do I participate?
If you are an intern requiring in-service training, hand in your detailed CV, academic record, certified copy of your ID, and a letter from your institution stating that you are currently a student who requires workplace training, as well as the duration of the experience needed.
Also attach a covering letter to your CV requesting an internship and deliver it to the Skills Development Administration Clerk, ninth floor, Fidelity House,
Govan Mbeki Street (next to City Treasurer).

GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT
If you are an unemployed graduate seeking workplace experience, complete an application form in order for us to register your details on the NMBM database.
