 INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE

ASSISTANT MANAGER: WATER TREATMENT WORKS

(WATER AND SANITATION – PLANT MAINTENANCE)

POSITION CODE: 190069

TASK Grade 13 (R432 720 – R601 620 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:

 

·         -   Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Instrumentation) or Diploma in Electronics and Industrial Scanda System.

·         -   Valid Code EB driver’s licence.

·         -   Computer literacy - Office Application.

·         -  Three to four years’ relevant experience in a supervisory position.

 

Key attributes and competencies:

 

·         -   Good communication and writing skills.

·         -   Supervisory skills.

·         -   Good understanding of procedures, systems and controls.

·         -    Sound financial management.


Job purpose:


  • Coordinating and controlling tasks and activities associated with the Mechanical/Electrical Instrumentation Section.
  • Maintaining effectiveness of repair and maintenance to plant and equipment in the Infrastructure and Engineering Directorate through the implementation of procedures, applications, systems and controls to facilitate the implementation of procedures, applications, system and controls to facilitate the regions with regard to efficient and cost effective service delivery, in accordance with the objectives of the Division/Department.

 

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
