DEPUTY DIRECTOR: FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

(FACILITIES MANAGEMENT)

POSITION CODE: 190079

TASK Grade 15 (R514 896 – R715 884 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

 

Qualifications and experience required:

 

  • B-Tech Degree in Building Construction Management or in a related engineering field.
  • Four to five years’ relevant experience in Building / Facilities Management.
  • Valid Code B/EB/C1/EC1 or EC drivers’ licence.

 Key attributes and Competencies:

 

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Applications).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent managerial skills.
  • Good technical report-writing, monitoring and evaluation skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of applicable municipal policies, as well as any other relevant legislation.

 

Job purpose:

 

  • Managing the execution of operational plans and procedures associated with the management and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
  • Co-ordinating and controlling tasks/activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline.
  • Monitoring and controlling the execution of maintenance requirements and/or rehabilitation/restoration procedures with respect to buildings and recreational facilities.
  • Disseminating technical/operational information on outcomes, current developments, problems and constraints.
  • Co-ordinating specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the functionality.

  

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
