SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN: INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE

VACANCY

INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE 

SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

(DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION)

POSITION CODE: 7273

Task Grade 12 (R337 332 – R468 996 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

Requirements: 

  • National Diploma in the relevant field.
  • A valid Code EB Driver’s license. 

Competencies: 

  • Oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
  • Extensive understanding of applicable regulations and procedures in the design/contracts environment.
  • Co-ordination, analytical and decision making skills. 

Job purpose: 

  • Responsible for application of technical Engineering procedures and applications associated with the provision of information and guidance, formulation, development and/or draughting of plans, proposals and designs.
  • Preparing contractual documentation and monitoring the implementation and execution of average scales contracts and, disseminating technical project/ contract information internally and/or externally ensuring through creative and specialized/accurate applications/specifications to establish support project planning, executing discussions and decision making processes.

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
