INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN  

  LEGISLATIVE PROCESS AND SUBMISSIONS

 

Further notice is hereby given in terms of Section 12(3)(b) and 15 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000 that the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality has considered and adopted the following Draft Policies for the purpose of public participation, as provided for in terms of aforesaid legislative provisions:

 

The following By-laws have been adopted in principle:

 

  1. Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality’s Draft Problem Buildings By-Law
  2. Nelson Mandela bay Metropolitan Municipality‘s Spatial Planning and Land Use Management By-Law

 

 The following Policies have been adopted in principle:

 

1.    Outdoor Dining Policy

2.    Liquor Outlet Policy

3.    Student Accommodation Policy

4.    Guest House Policy

5.    Tall Building Policy

 

The following Policy has been adopted by Council:

 

1.    Immovable Asset Policy

 

All these policies are available for inspection during normal working hours at:

·       Municipal Offices: 3rdFloor, Lillian Diedericks Building, Govan Mbeki Avenue, Central.

  • All municipal libraries, clinics, municipal service pay-points and Ward Councillor’s Offices throughout the municipal area.

Further notice is given that the commenting period has been extended to 23 February 2018 and that all comments or objections in respect of the draft By-Laws must be submitted in writing to the Municipal Manager, P.O Box 9, Port Elizabeth, 6000 on or before close of business on 23 FEBRUARY 2018.   

Individuals, organizations or stakeholders that wish to make verbal presentations can do so at the venues where the Draft Policies are available for inspection. The officials in attendance will put the oral submission in writing. Submissions are to be submitted at the third floor, Lillian Diedericks Building, Govan Mbeki Avenue, Central.
