Ward committee nominations awaited fro election process

Interested parties are urged to nominate a candidate for the election of new Ward Committees before the closing date, which is 03 May 2017.

Nomination forms are available at all Ward Councillors' Offices, Customer Care Centres and Municipal Libraries. Nominations can be made for representatives from the following Sectors and Voting Districts: Women and Children;  the Aged and people with Disabilities; Faith-based Organisations; Economic development; Health & Social Development; Youth; Sport; Recreation and Culture; Community safety, etc.

To be Nominated as a Ward Committee member and become a sector representative, in a duly elected Ward Committee, it is required that candidates be South African citizens, registered as a voter of that respective Ward, be at least 18 years of age, have no criminal conviction, and not owe the Municipality for services or be in arrears, but is willing to make the necessary arrangements to settle according to set Council policy.

The elections are to be held at Ward-based venues throughout the Metro on 17 May 2017, which venues are stated on the municipal website at www.nelsonmandelabaygov.za. Please click here to view the venues.
